Not surprising, half of college sophomores change their intended majors from what they had planned when they graduated from high school. High school students whose intended major was a good fit with their interests were more likely to stick with their major in college. This information resulted from a study undertaken by ACT. This reaffirms the importance of career exploration, counseling, and good decision-making when students are planning for college. Just a reminder I have an excellent Career Assessment which will guide your high school senior into selecting appropriate colleges and majors. Because of its aptitude component, this instrument provides a much more comprehensive assessment of an individual’s skills and interests when matched up with a person’ career options.
